‘Darth Vader’ forces bank teller to hand over thousands

May the cash be with you.

A creative crook entered the dark side Monday after robbing a North Carolina bank in a Darth Vader-style getup and then fleeing.

Armed with a rifle, the suspect entered a State Employees Credit Union in Pineville at 11:45 a.m. and demanded money from the teller, cops said.

He managed to take thousands of dollars before jumping into a gray, four-door Chevy Suburban, local station WSOC TV reported.

Witnesses described him as a 5-foot-5 black man wearing dark clothing, including a Darth Vader mask and decorative shirt.

"[There's] a lot of foot traffic in and out of the bank at that time of day. This is definitely something unusual that you don't see every day in law enforcement," Lt. Corey Copley of the Pineville Police Department told the television station.

No one was injured in the "Star Wars" stick-up.

In 2010, another Darth wannabe held up a Chase bank on Long Island and fled on foot.

He was caught on surveillance video — wearing a blue cape and camouflage pants.
