With Bam’s poor record, dems have to Mitt-pick

The Issue: The performance of both candidates in the second presidential debate on Tuesday night.

Again, Mitt Romney clearly won the debate against President Obama, hitting him hard on his record ("Mitt, on Points," Editorial, Oct. 17).

The best moment came when he mentioned the "Fast and Furious" scandal and that Obama is more interested in fund-raisers and campaigning than the Americans killed in Libya.

Romney is the clear choice this November.

Since Obama has nothing but a disastrous four years to run on, with unfulfilled promises and failures stemming from corruption and incompetence, it makes sense for his team to misquote and criticize Romney's words as a part of their mudslinging strategy.

First it was the accusations that Romney did not pay his taxes, and now it's the "binders of women."

The real problems stalking America, like Obama's failing economy, a second recession on the horizon and record-high gas prices under his watch, remain off limits and swept under the rug by the mainstream media.

I disagree with The Post. I give Obama a win by TKO. To paraphrase a great American, Obama floated like a butterfly, but stung like a bee.

Obama's continued defensive position over Benghazi during the second debate only further proves the failure of his administration's foreign policy.

From placing the blame on intelligence agencies and the State Department to countering that Romney has politicized the attack, the buck has been passed more times than Joe Biden's fits of laughter.

The opportunity to admit his administration's oversight of security details was clearly presented.

All Obama made clear was that he found Romney's statements on Benghazi offensive, even if Romney was just stating the facts and looking for an admission of responsibility.

In order to move forward, you must admit your mistakes.

It really does not matter who the sitting president is or his party affiliation, the office must be respected. This was anything but the case in Tuesday's presidential debate.

Romney was totally disrespectful toward Obama in demeanor and attitude, continually cutting him off and trying to intimidate.

He was like a schoolyard bully trying to pick on a weaker child. And although this turned out not to be the case, as Obama held his own, it showed a character flaw in Romney that is anything but presidential.

Romney clearly has a better plan for our future. What's frustrating to on-the-fence voters like me is his clunky delivery and his habit of never finishing with a flourish.

He said "We can't afford another four more years like the last four years" when he should've said, "four years of failure."

I know it's a subtle difference, but at this stage of the game, Romney needs to add a bit more style to his substance.

Obama kept repeating his old mantra but had nothing to offer for the future.

Romney left himself open by asking questions that allowed the president to steal some of Romney's time.

Romney was strong and did not back off, but he missed some great opportunities on Libya and the administration's misinformation.

He did exceptionally well on attacking Obama on the economy.

However, many are still unwilling or unable to admit that it is time for a change.

Romney has proved to my satisfaction that he can be presidential.

My vote, which won't matter much in New York, is going to him.
