NYPD computers also linked to ‘The Nanny,’ Playboy Wiki edits

NYPD computers were also used to make edits to Wikipedia pages for Playboy magazine, wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin, "The Nanny" — and '90s band Chumbawamba.

Goofballs changed the history section for Playboy on March 22, 2007, to read, "Today, 'Playboy' is still Responsible for teenage boys for having their first orgazime [sic]."

That very day, that same IP address also trolled the page for the seafood "scallop" and fixed the spelling of "b–w job" — which was spelled with an "e" instead of a "w."

Other inane edits included one to British group Chumbawamba's page, which was updated to incorrectly list three men as band members, and a grammatical fix from "colour" to "color" on the entry for Batsuit — as in, Batman's costume.

TV show "The Nanny" also was edited on May 26, 2009, by an eagle-eyed fan, who correctly changed character Fran Fine's native locale from Brooklyn to Flushing, Queens.

The Vatican section of the "Ages of Consent in Europe" page got four edits in September 2012 from an IP address that also updated information for the New York City Department of Correction.

Someone under the IP address 206.212.134.12 stayed busy with more than 30 edits to pages ranging from Levittown, New York, and "Who Moved My Cheese?" to Vince Lombardi Trophy and New York City Police Department.
