A top secret British MI5 agent donned a wig and glasses to record a deposition that was played at the trial of an accused al Qaeda operative Thursday in Brooklyn Federal Court.
Prosecutors played the clip of the agent's disguised testimony,where in which he recalled his surveillance of accused terrorist Abid Naseer.
Naseer is charged with being part of a global al Qaeda cabal that planned attacks on the New York City subways, a Danish newspaper and a British shopping center.
Naseer has specifically been linked to the planned mall bombing.
The agent stated that he tailed Naseer, and that at one point saw him watching a video of the 9/11 attacks on a cellphone.
The Pakistani defendant is representing himself in court, and claims he is the victim of a government fishing expedition.
Several MI5 agents are slated to testify in the case next week and have been allowed to wear wigs and light makeup to obscure their identities.
