Tycoon’s ex cashes $975 million check — but still plans appeal

She cashed the $975 million check but vows to appeal.

Or so Sue Ann Arnall, the ex-wife of Oklahoma oil magnate Harold Hamm, said Monday through her lawyers.

Arnall, whose 26-year marriage presumably ended when she cashed her ex-husband's outsized check on Jan. 5, still wants a bigger piece of Hamm's $8.1 billion.

Never mind that's down from $18.7 billion that Forbes estimated Hamm had in May, Thanks to cratering oil prices he has seen his own standing among America's richest fall from No. 24 to No. 54.

The reversal of fortune prompted Hamm himself to appeal the settlement made public in November as "erroneous and inequitable."

His ex-wife feels the same way — only about her settlement — and referred to her freshly cashed check as "a small portion of the estate that we built over two decades."

Hamm's lawyers filed a motion Monday to dismiss saying Arnall — by accepting the e check — "abandoned of her right to appeal that decision."
