Jacob deGrom is going out with a roar.
If the Mets right-hander doesn't win the NL Rookie of the Year award, it won't be because he was just happy to finish the season with his arm intact.
It's 22 consecutive scoreless innings and counting for deGrom, whose gem Tuesday night carried the Mets to their third straight victory, 2-0 over the Rockies at Citi Field.
DeGrom (8-6, 2.62 ERA) allowed only three hits over eight shutout innings with no walks and nine strikeouts. He retired 14 straight batters to conclude his 100-pitch outing. With manager Terry Collins under pressure from the front office to keep pitch counts in check, deGrom was not allowed to return for the ninth.
Josh Edgin and Jeurys Familia combined to get the final two outs after Jenrry Mejia loaded the bases in the ninth and was yanked.
The only hint of trouble for deGrom came in the second, when Wilin Rosario doubled with two outs and Josh Rutledge singled. But deGrom struck out DJ LeMahieu to keep the game scoreless.
Curtis Granderson's RBI double in the sixth extended the Mets' lead to 2-0. It continued a productive stretch for Granderson, who homered twice against the Reds in three games over the weekend.
Juan Lagares brought in the game's first run with an RBI single in the fifth against Christian Bergman. Matt den Dekker's double with one out started the rally.
