Film legend Mickey Rooney has died at 93, according to reports in TMZ and Variety.
The Brooklyn-born megastar's legendary career spanned nine decades, during which he made dozens of movies — from serious dramas, to comedies to musicals.
He first appeared on stage in 1921, at the age of 17-months in his parent's vaudeville show.
His first film role came five years later.
Known for his diminutive size, Rooney was an incredibly versatile actor-singer. He starred dozens of films, including nearly 20 in which he played all-American teenager Andy Hardy, according to his IMDB biography.
He displayed his dramatic chops in films like "Requiem for a Heavyweight'' and sang and danced his way through "Girl Crazy,'' "Babes in Arms'' and "Strike up the Band.''
Rooney made nearly as many appearances at the altar as he did in front of the camera. He had eight wives, including Ava Gardner.
