Judge Shira Scheindlin has endangered me and everyone else in New York City.
She has clearly endangered the lives of all the NYPD officers, who risk their lives every day to protect us, the judge included.
I have spent 32 years as a Catholic high-school administrator on the streets of inner Brooklyn after dismissal, making sure that minority youth remained safe.

That job has just become incredibly more difficult and more dangerous, due to the judge's stupidity or, more likely, her political bias.
The help I have received from the officers of the 88th Precinct over those 32 years in keeping young people safe has been so great it is beyond measure.

I am a former New Yorker now living near Chicago, a beautiful and wonderful city. Chicago has one-third the population of New York City and probably twice the number of murders.
Every weekend, we see carnage on the news and it usually involves innocent children, mothers and grandparents who just happen to get in the way of the gangbangers. This could be the future for New York.
These murders are happening mostly in minority neighborhoods and most of the victims are innocent people, chiefly minorities.
Scheindlin should come to Chicago and meet the parents of the dead innocents and perhaps some of the surviving innocent victims.

Sheindlin has set the city back to the bad old days of the '70s and '80s.
As a retired NYPD sergeant, I can remember going out on patrol in the '70s when guns were prevalent and shootings were common.
It was nothing out of the ordinary to hear gunshots during my tour. Bodies were dropping all over the city, and doctors and nurses worked to the point of exhaustion.
The thugs and gangbangers will celebrate this ruling, and NYC will be the loser, particularly the good people living in high-crime areas.
God help you, Sheindlin. You and your liberal puppets have stuck a knife in the heart of a city that will surely become Detroit east.

People against the stop-and-frisk policy are missing the point.
They fail to see a lot of would-be carrying thugs are thinking twice about carrying a gun because of the threat of being stopped. Those numbers actually support the reason this practice must continue. Now, with no reason to worry, the number of guns will go up.
Don't they realize this policy is saving the lives of Hispanics and African-Americans? They're the ones more likely to be killed by a gun.
Maybe the judge should speak to the families of young blacks and Hispanics killed in Chicago and ask them if they feel this is a good policy now.
We need to continue this policy, because some parents are not stopping and frisking their own kids when they leave the house.

I have a solution to Scheindlin's requirement that the ratio of stop-and-frisk be tied to the precinct's racial population rather than crime-to-race ratio.
As a 66-year-old white, retired male, I, and many of my colleagues, would be glad to volunteer our time to walk down city streets and be questioned by the NYPD.
This could happen on one predetermined day each month.
The NYPD could meet its quotas and be free to conduct real police work throughout the rest of the month.
