Acclaimed chef Grant MacPherson has cooked for Michael Jackson and Liz Taylor at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, the likes of Simon Cowell and Sir Philip Green at Barbados' Sandy Lane Hotel, as well as for a host of VIPs and high rollers as executive chef at the Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas. But on Thursday, the statuesque, Scottish-born chef was grilling up burgers for Dan Aykroyd. MacPherson cooked for 650 guests at the Hard Rock Cafe kickoff party for Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival. Aykroyd made a surprise appearance at the Chase event during a raucous set by rock band Styx. MacPherson told us, "Before he went on stage Dan wanted a burger, so I personally made him a couple and took them over. As I put them in front of him he said, 'I've already eaten two,' but when I explained I'd made them especially for him, he stuffed them in his mouth immediately."
